Origins of the Name
"Caney" originates from the name of the houses of the Cuban aborigines, built with wood, characterized by their circular walls and a cone-shaped roof.
History of Ron Caney
Ron Caney rum was first introduced in 1934 by Ramón del Collado. The brand gained significant recognition since its inception. In the early 1960s, the brand was relaunched, and its exportation began to European and American markets, including Russia, Germany, Bolivia, Ecuador, Mexico, and Colombia. Ron Caney's high quality was acknowledged at the Plovdiv 1966 and Leipzig 1967 Fairs.
Awards and Recognition
The brand's excellence was further recognized at the 1993 Havana Fair and the first International Rum Festival in Havana in 2004. At the latter, Caney Añejo Centuria received the grand prize in a blind tasting.
New Chapter
Ron Caney is now owned by Ocean Cask in the US. The rum is produced and bottled by Ocean Cask in Fort Pierce, Florida. Inspired by the notorious fruits of El Caney in Santiago de Cuba, known for its delicious fruits, Ron Caney aims to create a unique line of rums.
Innovative Approach
Ron Caney plans to pioneer the first line of rums that incorporate real fruits and fruit pulps, crafting distinctive fruit rums that showcase the brand's commitment to innovation and quality.
